- Transformers are coming to Squad Busters as the first major collab in the game rolls out!
- Optimus Prime and Elita-1 will be playable for a limited time
- Meanwhile, certain characters are getting themed skins, while chests, modifiers and more get a makeover
While it received huge attention and praise, by Supercell standards the launch of Squad Busters was somewhat lacklustre. But as we’ve pointed out, the Finnish studio doesn’t tend to leave things half-done when they’ve committed, and Squad Buster’s first major collaboration is here as they team with Hasbro’s iconic Transformers franchise!
From the Transformers franchise, characters Optimus Prime and Elita-1 will be making their debut as the first outside characters to join the game’s roster. That’s not all, of course, as selected characters will also get special themed skins, while modifiers, spells and chests will also get limited-time makeovers.
The collab comes just in time for Hasbro’s own Transformer’s Day celebrations on the 17th, and the launch of the hotly-anticipated film Transformers One on the 20th. It also comes hot off the heels of Supercell’s first major collaboration with famous footballer Erling Haaland, who made an appearance in their flagship game Clash of Clans.
Something or other about Autobots and rolling out
Like I previously wrote, Squad Busters had a decent if lacklustre launch by Supercell standards. But by everyone else’s standards, it was still a huge success, and Supercell seems to be capitalising on this as they go all-in on collabs, which until now have been relatively rare in their games despite the global popularity of titles like Clash of Clans.
