- HoYoverse has filed a trademark for “Petit Planet”
- A confidential playtest will be held in LA
- Fans speculate a possible life sim
As reported by our B2B experts over at PocketGamer.biz, it seems that HoYoverse might just be working on another new blockbuster hit named “Petit Planet”, given how the company has filed a trademark for it in the US. Spotted by eagle-eyed fans over on Reddit, this new trademark is supposedly part of a confidential playtest that will be held in Los Angeles, but whether or not it’s the same big thing is anybody’s guess.
If we’re going to speculate based on the trademarked title alone, though, it’s easy to assume that the minds behind Genshin Impact are working on a type of life sim. To be honest, it’s not hard to see why the studio would go down that road – I mean, I can personally already see hints of that mechanic in Zenless Zone Zero.
While the ooh-ing and the ahh-ing are at the forefront of the action in ZZZ, there are plenty of things you can do with the gorgeously designed characters during your downtime.
HoYoverse has crafted such a jaw-dropping and stylised world that it’s hard to resist wanting to wander around with your partymates. You can increase your relationship bonds with them through different activities, and if that’s something the studio can expand into a full game, then I’m all for it.
At the moment, all we can really do is twiddle our thumbs and wait – after all, HoYoverse also recently registered a project titled XinBuGuDi earlier this year, which, when roughly translated, means “Star Cloth Valley”. It’s the same kind of interstellar/cosmic theme, with another “Astaweave Haven” trademark made in June.
In the meantime, if you’re eager to join in on all the fun of what’s actually out now, you can do so by checking out Zenless Zone Zero on Google Play and the App Store. We’ve got codes too for more freebies!
